Plans & Usage

API Limits

Every Forge API plan includes usage limits designed to keep the platform fast and reliable. As your projects grow, you can upgrade to unlock additional capacity and advanced features.

Start free and upgrade later

Most developers begin on the Free plan while building or testing their application. Upgrading only becomes necessary when you need more projects, storage or monthly API requests.

Need more capacity?

You can upgrade at any time from the Billing page. Your projects and endpoints remain unchanged after upgrading.

Projects

Each project contains one or more endpoints.

When your account reaches the maximum number of projects, Forge API prevents new projects from being created until you delete an existing project or upgrade your plan.

Endpoints

Endpoints belong to projects.

The Free plan supports up to ten endpoints in a project. Paid plans remove this limit.

Organise related endpoints

Instead of creating many small projects, group related endpoints into the same project whenever possible.

Monthly requests

Every public API request counts towards your monthly allowance.

Requests are counted regardless of whether they originate from a web browser, mobile application, Postman, automated tests or another HTTP client.

What happens when I reach my limit?

Once your monthly request allowance has been exhausted, additional requests may be rejected until the allowance resets or your plan is upgraded.

Response size

Each endpoint has a maximum JSON response size.

Larger JSON responses require higher plans. This encourages realistic responses while protecting overall platform performance.

Account storage

Storage includes all endpoint configurations and JSON stored in your account.

If you approach your storage allowance, consider removing unused projects or upgrading to a larger plan.

Protected endpoints

Required request headers are available on paid plans.

Configure one or more secret request headers to restrict who can call your mock endpoints.

Response delays

Simulate slower APIs.

Paid plans allow configurable response delays so you can test loading indicators, skeleton screens and timeout behaviour.

Frequently asked questions

Will upgrading delete my projects?

No. Upgrading increases your available limits without removing existing projects or endpoints.

Do requests reset every month?

Yes. Monthly request allowances automatically reset at the start of a new billing period.

Can I downgrade later?

Yes. If your usage exceeds the limits of the lower plan, you may need to reduce usage before creating additional resources.

Can I increase only one limit?

Limits are determined by your subscription plan rather than being purchased individually.

Need more capacity?

Upgrade your Forge API plan whenever your projects outgrow the current limits.
